nullRev. Paul Schult, Senior Pastor

Pastor Paul Schult grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana – a Hoosier who loves basketball.  He attended Concordia University in Chicago, Illinois where he met his wife Beth.  Together they have five children, Madeline (22), Allison (21), Nathan (18), Sam (15), and Elise (14).  After graduating from college he taught English, theology, and physical education at Walther Lutheran High School in the Chicago area.  Paul and Beth were married in 1991 and moved to St. Louis where Paul attended Concordia Seminary.  His first call to pastoral ministry in 1995 was to Timothy Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  In 1998 he was called to Messiah Lutheran Church in the suburbs of St. Louis.  In 2016 they accepted the call to serve at Redeemer.  null

Paul’s life verse is Micah 6:8 – “What does God ask of you… to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” 

His primary responsibilities include worship, preaching, and helping lead the community of Redeemer in accomplishing God’s mission. 

Corey Garrity, Minister to Youth and Young Adults

nullCorey moved to the Bay Area from Chicago, Illinois where he attended Concordia University, Chicago—but will always call Raleigh, North Carolina home. He is often nostalgic about Bojangles’ fried chicken and the NC State Wolfpack. He is married to his wife, Madeline, who he met during his time at Concordia. Madeline is a 4th grade teacher at West Portal Lutheran School in San Francisco. 

While working towards a B.A. in Business Management at Concordia University Chicago, Corey had the unique experience of helping lead a growing campus ministry called College Life.  He looks forward to leveraging his leadership and business experience to learn and grow in community and Jesus with the young adults, high school and middle school students of Redwood City.

Rev. Paul G.Hoffmann, Pastor of to Seniors

Pastor Paul Hoffmann is serving the Senior community of Redeemer Lutheran Church by making visits to those in need or homebound, hosting a monthly senior luncheon and occasionally preaching the Sunday sermon.

Pastor Paul retired from full-time congregational ministry in 2007. He started his ministry as a vicar/intern in 1969 at Zion Lutheran Church in San Luis Obispo, California, and served his first call as Assistant Pastor at The Lutheran Church of Saint Andrew in Silver Spring, Maryland, then as Pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodbridge, Virginia (Southeastern District), Senior Pastor at Bethel Lutheran Church in Dallas, Texas

 (Texas District), and as Senior Pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Los Gatos, California.

Since retiring he has served as an Interim/Vacancy Pastor at Saint Mark, Kaneohe Hawaii, Mount Olive, Milpitas, and Our Redeemer, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Pastor Paul has served in our California-Nevada-Hawaii District as a regional vice-president, a Circuit Counselor, Board of Adjudication, chairman of the Stewardship Committee, and Pastoral Advisor to the CNH Lutheran Laymen’s League. In the Santa Clara Valley he has served on the Board of Directors of Sunny View Lutheran Home, and the VNA Health Ministry Advisory Committee.

 

nullRev. Dr. Harold S. Draeger, Pastor Emeritus

Reverend Dr. Harold S. Draeger is a licensed marriage, family, and child counselor available for personal, family and marriage counseling. A native of the Bay Area, Pastor Hal has served his entire ministry in northern and central California following his graduation from seminary in 1971 and came to Redeemer in 1992. He is married with two adult daughters and three grand-daughters and a grand-son. He received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena in 1988. In 1990, he entered the Master of Science program in counseling at California State University – Fresno and completed his degree in 1993. His interests include photography and cycling. He serves Redwood City and Atherton as Police Chaplain, and he is on the San Mateo County Chaplaincy Board of Directors. He is also vice-chair of the Redwood City’s Senior Affairs Commission.
